Lahore Qalandars progressed to the second eliminator match in the Pakistan Super League with a six-wicket win over Karachi Kings.

Qalanders finished one place below their opponents in the regular season standings, but reached their target of 191 with eight balls to spare, ensuring they would face Islamabad United on Friday for a place in Sunday’s final.

Opener Fakhar Zaman hit 47 from 28 balls, while Abdullah Shafique struck a 35-ball 65 before he was caught off Hasan Ali, leaving Lahore on a healthy 158-3 in the 16th over.

Kusal Perera and Bhanuka Rajapaksa were left to close out the match, and while Perera was caught at square leg off Mir Hamza with seven required, Sri Lankan Rajapaksa would finish the match in style three balls later, lifting a six over fine leg.

Captain David Warner led from the top of the order for Karachi after winning the toss, hitting 75 from 52 balls, but Khushdil Shah (27 not out) was the only other batter to make it out of the teens.

Haris Rauf was the pick of the Lahore bowlers, taking 3-35, as Karachi closed on 190-8, a total they were unable to defend as they slipped out of the tournament.
