Police probe over osprey remains found near Loch of the Lowes

Police have launched an investigation after the remains of an osprey were found in Perth and Kinross.

The protected species is believed to have been nesting at Loch of the Lowes, near Dunkeld – which is close to where the bird was found.

Officers are working with partner agencies to establish the full circumstances and the force said inquiries are at an early stage.

It is not yet clear whether there has been any criminality.
