Former Sussex head coach Mark Robinson has rejoined the club’s coaching staff on a short-term deal.

The 58-year-old led Sussex to six trophies in 10 years as head coach before leaving the club to become head coach of England Women in 2015 and winning the World Cup in 2017.

Robinson then joined Warwickshire as head coach, winning the abbreviated County Championship in his first season, before leaving by mutual consent last month.

He will return to Hove to join up with Mark Farbrace for at least the next two months.

“It feels great to be back at Hove, it’s a club that will always have a special place in my heart,” Robinson told the club’s website., external

“To be able to come back and support the coaches and players in building on the successes of last year is an exciting one.”

Sussex begin their County Championship Division One campaign away to Warwickshire on 4 April following their promotion last year.
