Everton’s Karoline Olesen will be sidelined for a “short period” but avoided a serious injury against West Ham on Sunday.
Everton confirmed that Olesen, 19, had stitches in her thigh and will begin rehabilitation.
Toffees boss Brian Sorensen initially said the injury was a “bad one” and feared Olesen had broken her leg.
Sunday’s victory takes Everton to ninth in the Women’s Super League table and they take on second-placed Manchester City in their next outing on 2 March.
