Toilet bowl stains are difficult to clean, but a Reddit user may have a hack using a beauty product lying around.

On a Reddit thread focused on cleaning calcium build up in toilet bowls, one user suggested pumice stones will do the trick.

There are other tricks to nixing these tough stains, like the cleaning product Harpic or even Coca Cola.

“Pumice stone with the label scouring stick. I had these stains in my most recent apartment toilet, and it took it right off. No chemicals, just scrubbing with gloves and the stone. It didn’t scuff up the toilet either. Hope that helps!” they wrote.

Another wrote: “I buy pumice stones on sticks at the dollar store or larger solid pumice stones there. I agree it’s the easiest and most effective way to clean the toilet.”

One pumice stone method fan added: “Pumice stone with the label scouring stick. I had these stains in my most recent apartment toilet, and it took it right off. No chemicals, just scrubbing with gloves and the stone. It didn’t scuff up the toilet either.”

While those users stand by pumice stones, others offered store-bought cleaners, like Iron Out powder and Zep Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner.
