Harry Darling: Swansea City defender to ‘see what happens’ over contract

He added: “Me and my girlfriend had our first baby here so Swansea is always going to be a special place for us.

“It’s something I don’t really get involved in. I focus on my football and I am sure that will take care of itself – I am football first and we will see what happens.”

Swansea signed Darling for an undisclosed fee understood to have been in excess of £1m.

Russell Martin made the former Cambridge United player a target after taking charge at Swansea in 2021 having worked with him at MK Dons, and eventually got his man the following summer.

He is one of a number of Swansea players whose contracts expire at the end of this campaign, with Cabango, Liam Cullen, Joe Allen and Kyle Naughton among the others.

Darling was linked with a move to Championship rivals Bristol City before the transfer window closed last month.
