Gogglebox star Pat Webb dies aged 75 after long illness | Ents & Arts News

Gogglebox star Pat Webb has died after a long illness, the TV show has confirmed.

The 75-year-old appeared with son Stephen Lustig-Webb, from Brighton, during series 10 to 12.

He posted on Instagram: “Mummy Pat, you were one in a million, took everyone at face value, would share your last fiver with a stranger, the salt of the earth and the absolute centre of our world! Rest in peace mum.”

Posting on X, the Channel 4 show also paid tribute.

“Mummy Pat will be remembered and missed by her children Stephen, Denise, Sharon, Beverley and the extended family,” it said.

“Our thoughts are with the family who have requested privacy at this sad time.”

Googleboxshow fan page replied to Stephen’s Instagram comment: “We loved you and Pat – she only had to be on screen for one second and you knew you would laugh at loud.”

Pat Webb joined Googlebox when Stephen’s friend, Chris Ashby-Steed, left the show in 2018 after a reported falling-out between the pair.

Lustig-Webb later appeared alongside his husband Daniel and was one of the show’s longest-running stars until the couple left last year.

In October, Lustig-Webb was forced to pull out of ITV’s Dancing On Ice after injuring his ankle during training.

The hit programme – which sees families and friends giving their musings as they watch TV – has run for 22 series since 2013.

It’s won a BAFTA and multiple National Television Awards, and has led to a celebrity spin-off series and shows featuring children and teenagers.
