Glynneath: Homeless man inspires boy, 8, to run 1 mile everyday

“Seeing him made me feel sad. I felt like he was invisible.”

Eight-year-old Lewys from Neath Port Talbot, has decided to run a mile daily for 26 days to raise money for homeless charities after seeing a homeless man in Swansea.

Hailed the Forrest Gump of Glynneath, Lewys bought the man a meal deal after noticing his empty cup but he wanted to raise money to buy more.

So far, he has raised enough for about 700, with other people inspired to join him – just like the movie character played by Tom Hanks that he has been named after.
