Flooding scheme’s £800,000 bid for prevention work

The tendency to try and improve landscapes has led to us “shifting water downstream”, causing flooding problems, the National Trust says.

Dewi Davies from the trust said the act had created a “sandbag effect”.

It comes as a scheme to hold back floodwater in north Wales is bidding for £800,000 to continue its work.

Euros Jones, from Natural Resources Wales, said work was under way to slow down water before it floods.
