Euro 2025 qualifiers: Scotland squad includes Sarah Ewens, Amy Gallacher and Kirsty Smith

Uncapped Sarah Ewens has been included in Scotland’s squad for April’s opening European Championship qualifiers away to Serbia and at home to Slovakia.

Rangers forward Ewens, 31, has been capped at Under-17 and Under-19 level.

Celtic forward Amy Gallacher and West Ham defender Kirsty Smith are recalled by head coach Pedro Martinez Losa for the games on 5 and 9 April.

Brogan Hay, Jenny Smith and injured Kirsty Hanson and Martha Thomas miss out after playing at the Pinatar Cup.

Scotland visit Leskovac on 5 April before hosting Slovakia four days later and will also play Israel later in League B Group 2.

Scotland were beaten by Finland on penalties in the final of the Pinatar Cup, a competition in which Thomas scored all three of the Scots’ goals.

Ewens has netted five times for SWPL leaders Rangers so far this season and helped them win the SWPL Cup final 4-1 on Sunday.

Gallacher, 25, has one cap and has scored 22 times in 22 appearances for Celtic this term while defender Smith could make her 50th senior international appearance.

“We want to qualify for the Euros and we know what the route is,” said Martinez Losa.

“The group has been showing elements of consistency.”
