Euro 2020 is being postponed for a year due to the coronavirus outbreak, according to Norway’s football association.
UEFA, European football’s governing body, is holding a series of conference calls with national associations on Tuesday.
UEFA itself has moved into lockdown because of coronavirus, with only business-critical staff working from its headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, from Monday evening onwards.
The move, though unconfirmed, leaves a question over whether UEFA’s other main tournaments, the Champions League and Europa League, will be finished.
The International Olympic Committee is also meeting on Tuesday. Organisers of the summer’s Tokyo games have thus far been adamant the sporting festival will go ahead.
