Fire crews rescue moggy Max from bridge over A12 at Ingatestone

Crews have rescued an adventurous cat who got stuck on a dual carriageway bridge, a fire service has said.

Max’s owners feared the worst when they located him perched precariously over the A12 at Ingatestone, near Chelmsford, at 14:50 BST on Monday.

They had used a tracking tag to find their missing cat, but were unable to reach him as he was stuck on a beam high above the carriageway.

An Essex Fire Service crew used chimney rods to coax him down by about 15:25 BST.
